Nobody is gonna do that for free and currently I think we are missing the incentives for this to bootstrap and thus the only solutions are custodial and these are regulated companies scared of going to jail so they force strong KYC etc.

I know nothing about nor do I bother with ios and android. I use open source operating systems like linux which don't require a closed source hardware device with a built in tracking device (cell modem). Yes, even my "phone" runs linux yes it works. But for using lightning, it should be as simple as simply having the ability to connect to lighting routers in which they can then have inbound channels opened to them. Is it really difficult to program a lightning app on ios and android  devices?
