Sats as a denomination is something that is slowly creeping into the larger consciousness. We use it because its useful, but the non Bitcoin people (or even Bitcoin new people) still use Bitcoin as the denomination and don't know how to use lightning network.

Just keep using it. They'll learn what it means from experience. When you refuse to put the time into learning something, you're forced to learn from experience instead.
