I know it ain't much, but you can now configure your NIP-05 in Outer Space. For now, you'll need a NIP-07 nostr extension to "connect" ... I don't want you putting your private key in the browser. I'll probably add DM-based "connect" before too long which should help mobile-bound folks.
If it isn't clear already, the Outer Space client(s) will still be usable without a NIP-05 and wallet from Outer Space. You'll just have to byo.
what's next
  • I'm going to do a sprint on SN stuff
    • adding a nostr sub and nostr login
    • reviewing/merging prs
    • whatever else I can fit into the sprint
  • Back to Outer Space to build the wallet
  • I've been developing an SN-like algorithm that I think is cross-compatible with Nostr and can be described pretty simply with linear algebra
    • I'll have to empirically determine whether it's feasible to do on the client (not likely) and if not I'll probably have to propose a NIP for algorithms
  • adding a nostr sub and nostr login
  • reviewing/merging prs

Is NIP-02 not supported yet because I have to configure relays instead of my existing list getting fetched?
I am always confused when my relays don't sync with other nostr clients.
reply
It's not yet and NIP-02 wouldn't help with relay population anyway, because how would I know which relay to get your "contact list" from?
I'm hoping to eventually add an "import from an existing NIP-05," but that, like NIP-02 editing, didn't make it in this go around.

That's a good question, haha
I was wondering how other clients do this. I can update relays in amethyst and it shows up on snort and iris. At least I think that was what I noticed.
I guess this is done with NIP-05 as you mentioned using the relays key in the response.
Guess I confused NIP-02 with that
reply
Yeah, the secondary benefit of NIP-05 afaict is quickly communicating your relay preferences.

Wohoo! Is there a different plan for long posts, for link sharing and for personal "tweet" style notes?
reply
The theoretical plan right now is to support all content types and allow users to multi-select what they want to see.
reply
lol, me using "woohoo" was not related to you using "woohoo". I guess this post is just best described with "woohoo", haha

let’s go!

This package does not have a README.
lol
reply
That's how great it is, just import and you have a wallet, done.
Jk, forgot that wasn't in there. Next release will have the readme but we will be expanding upon it throughout next week for btc++.

Wow, 100k sats… What does that get you?
reply
Just a NIP-05 and eventually a wallet and possibly other things that make sense for a one time thing.
There's lots of nostr stuff that you can get for free which is plenty good and I'd recommend using that if 100k sats is unappetizing.
Pricing is hard and I might drop it eventually and refund current folks the difference.

Thanks for the explanation. Really just wanted to know more. Not needed for me at this time, but looking forward to seeing what comes of it. Like the look!

It's a full load of Nostr algorithm

Umm I paid 100k sats to reserve. Is the the time to activate our reservation?
reply
Yes, if you login with the pubkey you provided, you'll be able to access settings for your NIP-05.
reply
The nostr pubkey?
reply
Yes, exactly
reply
If you only use Damus this won’t work correct?
reply
It will. Your identity on Damus is a keypair. To connect to Outer Space using a keypair provided by Damus, you'll need to:
  1. install a nostr browser extension, e.g. Alby
  2. copy your private key into the browser extension
reply
Ahh okay need to do this on desktop?
