Indeed! You can't have an increase in human flourishing without an increase in energy production and consumption. We simply cannot advance as a civilization without utilizing more and more energy. Bitcoin. Change the code, not the climate.

I think a big issue is that people don't have a good sense of how humanity creates and uses energy. I know that I don't have a good sense... I think this is something we will need to address first. 

Currently people get really easily tricked by "X uses more energy than country Y", but while that may be true, I don't think most people actually realize how meaningless statement that is in relationship to how much energy US, China and Russia consume.
