I have two private lightning channels open with an inbound liquidity of 400k sats combined. I run my node on a VM where the host is a fat desktop gaming machine with a lot of resources. I don't want to have this machine online while I go on a vacation, but on the other hand, I don't want to close the channels as they have good inbound liquidity for my purposes. If the channels will be offline for the next 2 weeks, will I get force closed? The local balance is 20k, so I don't fear penalties.

Will they get forced closed or not depends on your channel partners. If your channel partners use an automatic software to manage their lightning nodes and have auto force close set for nodes offline for 2 weeks or more, then your channels are likely to get force closed. If your channel partners manually manage their lightning nodes, then force close or not is at their discretion. If your channel partners don't really manage their lightning nodes, then the channels are probably going to be fine.
So, I guess the short answer is, you don't really know what will happen to your channels; but you shall see when you come back from vacation.

Couldn't find an answer, but good articles anyway. So I'll leave the node offline and see what happens when waking it up after the two weeks.
