I just wanted to share that I am earning 100 sats per minute of listening today on fountain.fm. This is a first for me. Usually I earn 1 sat per minute. I've earned 2, 5, 6, 7 before, but not very often. Sometimes 0 as well. But wow, 100 is just crazy.

Yea it's random. 90 times out of 100 it's 1 sat, then sometimes it's more, and sometimes it's a lot more.

It's like the rats in the old behavioral conditioning experiments — randomly delivering positive reinforcement made the rats most addicted. So we all tune into Fountain daily, collect our 1/sat per minute, and then, sometimes...

funny story here, I found out about fountain when first I heard about lightning, I installed it on all my family members' devices and had them use it. needless to say I stopped getting any sats real quick after that lmao.

Does anyone have insight into how fees are set, is it based on user engagement location, or just what the podcaster sets when promoting their show at a flat fee per minute?

I don't think it's this, because it's at a platform level, not specific to which podcast you're watching. You might be referring to the promoted podcasts, which is probably based on the podcaster.

Oh I see you're referring to the app rewards, yeah I am not too interested in how fountain subsidises user growth and retention, more about how the market for attention is developing, does it offer podcasters a better cpa/cpl this to me would be interesting because it shows if its a worthwhile product that can compete with other forms of promotion
