I haven't been paying too much attention to what I saw as the charade of the debt ceiling drama, but it seems like things might actually be dicey. Lots of Republicans don't like McCarthy, and the progressive wing of the Democratic Party doesn't want to compromise. In the end they might not have the votes.
I think it’s all just games. I don’t think either party has the balls to blow up the status quo. It might bleed past the deadline but as soon as those boomers see all their paper wealth start to evaporate. They will call their reps our government capturing corporations (big banks/phrama) and all the fiat overlords will crack the whip and our bought and paid for politicians will bend the knee and further us on this road of debt slavery.
