Greetings to you all. I've brought you all together for a totally normal release announcement.
If this release had a comedian naming it (like the folks at Core Lightning seem to), it'd be called "powerful @ekzyis" because he did most of the work.

big uns

  1. @tonygiorgio already spilled the but we have a standalone pwa now - complete with a back button for those of us who like buttons. We don't do anything super fancy with it yet, but it squaks and limps like a native app.
  2. you can subscribe to other people's posts/comments to get notified when they have replies. You do so by clicking on the ... next the post/comment. This was requested many times but most recently by @moneyball.

medi-uns

  1. In the footer, we now have a link to the currently running commit hash. I don't deploy through github so sometimes it would be unclear which revision is deployed to prod. Nevermore, quoth the Baltimore ravens.
  2. We have a really simple browser notification thing now. It mostly just says "you have a notification" when you have a notification, but this will get more powerful eventually.

small uns

  1. niche fixes and enhancements not worth listing
Just testing the PWA now. Nice, gonna use this, reminded me to pop out other PWA capable sites I use.
reply
Make the notification opt-in. Don't blast it in my face for browsing the site.
reply
It should only appear when you visit your notifications and you can dismiss it forever.
Are you seeing it elsewhere or is that still too much?
reply
It was unsuspecting when I saw it when navigating to notifications tab.
A toggle would be ideal, also for opt-out.
reply
Isn't it opt-in? You have to enable it
reply
Unsuspectingly appeared, prefer a toggle enable it first.
reply
I agree. I find nearly any popup inconsiderate. Maybe on the notifications page there can be some kind of toggle which triggers the prompt.
reply
Exactly, no one asks for these pings.
reply
Very handy, thank you very much.
reply
What does the lightning bolt next to the bright/dark theme switch button do?
reply
that toggles the lightning bolt screen animations on and off
reply
Ah, I suspected as much. definitely want that on, cool feature.
reply
Would love a pull down to refresh feature and in general some more whitespace between thread "blocks"
reply
Are you on iOS? On android and chrome, the pull down gesture works
reply
Yup! iOS and Safari
reply
Does this pwa work on iOS?
reply
Yes it should. There is an issue with email login on iOS but otherwise it should work.
reply
How do you deploy a pwa?
Where are the new subs ?
reply

thankyou!!!
