Haven't ever owned any Apple products. One of the reasons I dislike smartphones is because there are two tech companies that managed to build walled gardens, and there are no decent alternatives. Android's wall isn't as high so there are open ROMs, but they are much more difficult to use as daily drivers than Linux is on a PC (I use Calyx, good overall but very rough on the edge cases).
