They will push us up the tech stack until we have built a complete Bitcoin ecosystem with our own hardware, app store, communications, payments... there will be an open source, sovereign internet.
They cannot stop it.

Darth is right. We need to stop using Apple if we care at all about censorship.
Graphene is a great alternative.. and pretty much the only alternative to Apple.
Definitely don't switch from Apple to regular android, that would be a step back.
It's a big shame though for Will, who has been a big proponent of the whole Zap thing and Nostr in general, and has invested a ton of time and effort into Damus.

It was hilarious from the beginning, building a censorship resistant app and put it on a censoring platform πππππ
What do you expect? To just let you go on?

Because regular android is saturated with google binaries, and google has similar data ethics to Facebook (monetise everything)

I think they mean Google could do the same thing but if you open source your app Google can't really censor you because of all the alternative app stores and ability to install apks.

As I always said: STOP making apps for Apple! STOP using Apple products, is just a matter of time until they will control everything you do.

Haven't ever owned any Apple products.
One of the reasons I dislike smartphones is because there are two tech companies that managed to build walled gardens, and there are no decent alternatives. Android's wall isn't as high so there are open ROMs, but they are much more difficult to use as daily drivers than Linux is on a PC (I use Calyx, good overall but very rough on the edge cases).

Not really, we already have good options. Graphene and CalyxOS. Look at degoogled android.

The next update of iOS will enable side loading apps if you live in the EU. Apple will absolutely drag its feet as long as possible when it comes to giving users more freedom.
