I was opening some channels lately, with some well known LSP and node operators. Private and public channels. But I notice that few have activated the SCID alias in their LN nodes. Why do you not use SCID alias for more privacy? Is just a line in your LN config file. https://docs.lightning.engineering/lightning-network-tools/lnd/channel-acceptor

Is this possible on Umbrel? Didn't see it in the advanced settings options or in the lnd.conf file. Guessing it is but may not be supported/suggested by the umbrel team.
Did you read the link I posted? Why don't you pay attention to the details? You just have to add the line
protocol.option-scid-alias=truein your lnd.conf file Umbrel have nothing to do with managing your lnd node. Umbrel is just a fancy web UI for your node bundle. Nothing else.
Thanks.
This is why I asked. From the umbrel lnd.conf file.
I did read the post and read some of Umbrel's docs as well. Projects like Umbrel that try to make things easy sometimes break if you customize them in ways the maintainers haven't tested. This is why I asked.
Yes, good warning. It is for all those users that have no idea what is a node and how you should configure it. If you are one of those, then don't do it. Many are fucking up their nodes because are not bothering to read at least some documentation.

Agreed. Thanks for confirming.
How does SCID improve privacy?
Aha! That is really nice
