It's been 18 days since we released a PWA in standalone display mode.
Do you use it? Why (not)? Did you know it exists? Do you know what PWAs are?
I would also be interested in any feedback regarding the PWA (good or bad). Is there something in particular you like about it or is missing for you?

I just created my account a couple of days ago directly from the PWA and I think it works great!
  • Logged in using lightning with Phoenix
  • Received my first sats from my Bio post
  • Spent some of those sats answering this poll
  • Funded my SN wallet
All without any issues from my phone.
I discovered Progressive Web Apps a couple of months ago with the Twitter PWA but what blew my mind was @callebtc Chaumian Ecash wallet as a PWA. It really made me think that we dont need centralized app stores from apple or google to bring bitcoin and lightning apps to mobile users.
Go check check out Cashu website cashu.space and the wallet PWA wallet.cashu.me

Yes, I use it every day
it's really nice to have the extra screen space (no URL bar in the browser) plus I can close all my tabs and still have stacker news available

I test it but is not something to be excited. I don't use too much the mobile for such things. My mobile is strictly for calls and LN payments. No chatting or posting on SN or nostr.

I am using Stacker News as a PWA from mobile only. It works great, except for the notifications, which I don't receive no matter how many times I have them enabled.
I love using PWAs, less space occupied, and less chance of installing unwanted content from official stores (Apple, Google, etc) or from third parties.
I am also using the Youtube PWA (with Brave as a browser), to be able to block advertising from the mobile.
Very useful.

Receiving push notifications on mobile doesn't work yet but I am working on it :)

We released push notifications today: #204418
Do you mind giving them a try and letting us know what you think? :)

It seems to work fine for now. As in the desktop version, a check is displayed at the top of the notifications. You just have to activate it and wait for notifications. Simple and effective.
I will let you know if there are any errors or I stop receiving notifications.

I'm happy keeping an SN tab open on mobile and desktop and guard my notifications like the crown jewels.

its fine but you can't login.

Email login using Safari on iOS? Or which login method do you use?
