Google and venture capital companies are short time pref. I don't think these will go away in the bitcoin hard money future but they will be less dominant. The fiat world encourages this sort of approach and discourages low time preference investment.

It's also a result of Googles corporate culture. They have a "throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks" culture. 

Maybe that was a brilliant structure for growing fast and a terrible strategy for such a company wanting to keep customers for lifetime value.
