SN release: ~meta sub, freebies improve, tip->zap, daily discuss permalink, more

  1. This ~meta sub now exists. Please use it instead of anywhere else to discuss SN features, sing SN's praise, and complain. All future releases and stuff will go here.
  2. Freebie posts/comments aren't limited to 2/5 anymore. So if you ever get to a zero balance, you can rebuild your balance. The same rules still apply to freebies otherwise, ie they have very limited visibility until other stackers zap them.
  3. All mention of 'tips' were changed to 'zaps' as that seems to be the consensus term.
  4. The daily discussion thread now has a permalink: https://stacker.news/daily
  5. Add a SimpleX chat group ... link is available in the footer with telegram and sphinx chat.
  6. Added a shortcut for tabs in markdown text areas: ctrl+alt+tab gives you a real tab now.
  7. New user email copy got a makeover with links to the faq and stuff
  8. When Stacker News Live is live streaming we display a banner on the front page for it

Good idea on this meta sub. Let me start by saying how I think "tech" was a good call for a sub. It seemed to instantly get lots of posts and activity.

I agree the name might be confusing at first glance. But ~meta is what most of us were calling this sub literally a year before today because it's what it's called on most community sites.

Hmmm ... on Ubuntu, using Chrome, I get Ubuntu intercepting those so I can't tell what that is doing. Can you explain further? You are referring to Tab for indent, like the old school paragraphs where you indent the first line or something?
Love the idea about being able to continue to post / comment after reaching 0 balance, just that you have limited visibility as you didn't pay to post, but others in wild west mode will see and can upvote and zap!
