I keep telling everyone the best way to send money abroad is with BTC and now comes my orange-pilled friend asking me how can he send some dirty fiat to his family in New Zealand, and I'm not sure what to answer. My first idea was the lnp2pbot but I see no offers on NZD. Same goes for Robosats, I only see one offer. If someone is willing to take an offer on Robosats, Bisq or the bot, he can get the bounty. Otherwise what's the best way to do this?

I guess it depends on whether you want to avoid KYC. If KYC is ok, family in NZ could use an exchange there to sell the BTC for NZD, after having setup a BTC wallet and receiving the sats.

That was important to clarify, I'd rather avoid KYC.

Makes sense.
A quick search suggests there are no BTC ATMs in New Zealand, either :/

Makes sense, place is a fascist shithole now. Complete with sweating tremoring idealogue.

Actually, I wonder if jacinta might be related to angela, who also has the shakes.

Need to find where the kiwi Bitcoin community hangs out.
There is a new app called Vexl: https://vexl.it/ where uses your contacts as a social graph to find Bitcoiners. Kinda like Tinder for Bitcoiners.
But your friends/family on the ground in NZ would have the most reach because they live there.
Buutt Apple hasn't approved the app yet, but it's available on Android.

Didn't know about this, will check it out, thanks

Thanks for the bounty !

Probably best to join the NZ bitcoin groups on telegram & search the chat for anyone selling NZD

To move fiat you basically need KYC.
In fiat world, one of the best companies to move money around is wise. Check them out

There was this post recently (#186567), but it is mostly KYC as it integrates with the banking system.
EDIT: It does not show NZ option though... maybe check if Bitaro from Australia operates there? Sorry, not that helpful in the end...

I'm confused, are you asking how to send NZD from a foreign country ---> New Zealand?
Not sure, but can't you do this with paypal or cashapp some other centralized money transfer app? And if not that, a bank account / western union?
Obviously Bitcoin would be easiest here. What do they need to use the money for? Maybe can be bought with the Fold card / bitrefill or some other Bitcoin to credit card/ gift card? That is, if no one is buying bitcoin P2P in New Zealand (which I find hard to believe)
reply
I have BTC I want someone in NZ to get NZD. I believe the easiest way is via Western Union, but that sucks, it's very expensive. The question about the final destination for the money is valid, but I don't think bitrefill will be enough. I just checked about fold card but it's only available in the US.

I might be able to do it - depends on the amount
