They should add a four point shoot to the NBA, but keep it on the wings - not a straight shot to the basket. Two zones.
I would rather they just move the three-point line back a few inches, but the zones idea is interesting.
What if it wasn't the same spots every game, but rather each game the 4-point spot was randomly assigned somewhere? Have it be about 35 feet, to make sure only a few players can hit it. That could add some really interesting dynamics to NBA defensive schemes and offensive strategies.

Like moving the pin each day in golf. I don't think teams will agree to a randomly assigned spot though. They will want something set in stone so they can work out strategies based on it.

I also doubt they'd do a random spot, but what I don't want to see are a bunch of specialists at hitting a particular deep three. The uncertainty would make players like Steph and Dame even more nightmarish to defend than they already are. Can you imagine the panic we'd see a defense go into as Steph goes sprinting off-ball towards a 4-point spot?

Yeah Curry could score 40 a game easily if there was a 4 point line.
