Not much of a victory story but..

Racing in an 8-lap amateur go-kart race against some work colleagues. I come up from 8th to 2nd on the 7th lap of the penultimate race. If I can finish top 3 I will make it into the final race of the day.

Getting a little cocky I push it and promptly spin off the track chasing 1st. With some help from a marshal I go back on the track and put my foot down eager not to lose a place. Imagine my surprise as 3rd place, 4th and 5th all flash past me going in the other direction… I had decided to do my last lap in the wrong direction. Suffice to say I didn’t qualify for the final race.
