I am generally interested assuming that only bitcoiners are around here, how many of you are actually able to pay and use bitcoin (lightning) on a daily basis.
I just now sparked my interest in lightning again but I hardly have any opportunity to pay locally. There are a few niche or specific opportunities on the web, but in my living area there is an absolut lack of the ability to use IRL which I miss desparately.
So my question: Do you use bitcoin in your day to day life
No, but I would like to48.0%

Yes (IRL)12.0%

Technically, I'm in the "YES (PRIMARILY ONLINE)" category, but "NO, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO" feels more accurate.
My daily use of Bitcoin is supporting content creators on Fountain, SN, and Nostr, as well as a little wagering at FreeBitcoin.
I'm eager to find opportunities to replace fiat transactions with Bitcoin, but I'm not interested in buying a bunch of stuff I don't need just because the vendor accepts Bitcoin.

The killer app is saving. Just think of how strong the cryptography is that secures every sat. If you hold you're using. Spending is still more of a niche use.

I get paid weekly in sats

Does it count if I'm zapping posts on nostr and SN? lol

I think that is really essential for the final goal being free of fiat, showing and experiencing that bitcoin is not only an asset or a possibility to save but also possess all the properties / traits to be an actual currency. And while (dont get me wrong value4value is important) spending sats in nostr / SN is important its not what I meant, I mean e.g. having the ability to buy a coffee or something from local store using lightning

Yeah I don't have a coffee shop that accepts Bitcoin, and even if I did I would need to know that they want the Bitcoin and aren't just going to sell it at the point of sale.

I would pay with Bitcoin even if I knew they were just going to exchange it for fiat.
I don't blame them for preferring fiat. They need to pay their employees, creditors, etc, 99.9% of whom all prefer fiat.
But if you pay with Bitcoin you are telling them there a bitcoin economy exists and there is a demand for paying in bitcoin
