Anything you like that makes a switch from Ubuntu worthwhile? Anything to be aware of?
CentOS is the free version of RedHat linux, which is an enterprise linux version. You dont want to use that on your personal computer unless you want to learn. Fedora is what you are looking for if you want to use the RPM family.

I used POP_OS for a while but recently started using EndeavourOS to play with the terminal command lines more and have a higher control over the customization of the OS from the get go

Hard to make a recommendation without more info. What use are you talking about here? Desktop, server, or running a bitcoin node?
reply
BTC nodes and eventually a server using mongoDB, also darkweb and VPN, wonder if it runs faster, more efficient, secure for these things.

I have used Debian for servers for years. If you use Ubuntu now it would be a pretty simple change for you. Any performance difference between Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS are gonna be minimal. Debian is very stable. If your goal is running a server stability is usually a high priority. I would avoid Fedora for servers( I use if as my desktop OS though). That said, if you don't have any issues with Ubuntu its fine. I default to Debian for servers but I do choose Ubuntu from time to time.

This was great, thx

Fedora OS is pretty good which is what Centos is based on. I always go for os that are the original software like Ubuntu is based on Debian which is more stable.

Ahh, good point.

I have moved all my servers FROM centos last year (to Debian) because of Red Hat bullshit (licences etc)
