Well, preseason football has begun and I for one am glad I was not able to get nfl network set up on my cable package in time for the 49ers vs Raiders game. It was a stinker for the 49ers but preseason Raiders are impressive. I ended up following the gamecast on my laptop while I played with blocks with my 4 year old (5 in two weeks, time flies). Preseason doesn't matter right? right?

Shill me your overreactive take on your team after week 1 of preseason.

I don't think the Jets are as good as the Bills but dare I say they finish second ahead of the Dolphins and make the playoffs. Yes, I do dare.

If they are playing against the 49ers back ups all year, YES! To be fair, all accounts said they looked great in joint practice as well. Crosby was a terror as usual and they had Purdy, Lance and Darnold handing out picks like they were candy at halloween.

Pre season is indeed meaningless. Joint practices too. I never get up or down pre season except for injuries.

Those were a lot of our backups, too.

I really hope one of your QB's isn't a total pumpkin this year. Of course, the 49ers' roster is so stacked that it never really seems to matter who your QB is (except for that poor kid in the championship game last year).

Josh Johnson? He had a good first preseason game for the Ravens. I think he is their 3rd string QB. He definitely wasn't ready for that moment. Thanks for reminding me of that game. Starts out with an Eagles TD because Shanahan didn't throw the challenge flag and then when 49ers get the ball Purdy gets blown up because Shanahan has a backup TE responsible for blocking Haason Reddick.

Shanahan is one of the best coaches in the league. Maybe even top 5 but he has made some major blunders in huge games.

Yeah, I had forgotten his name. Man, I felt bad for that kid. He got absolutely thrown to the wolves for his NFL debut. I'm glad he's getting another shot somewhere.

To be fair to Josh Johnson he was a practice squad QB all year. Philly had the best DL in the league. He hadn't seen anything close to that and in hostile Philly to boot. I don't fault him. Just that kind of year for the 49ers. Lost all their QBs. I really thought the season was over when Jimmy G went down but Purdy played great and they made a run. Was a great year nonetheless.

Carr looked like he's been playing for New Orleans his whole career. Jets have something special with their team's chemistry. Anthony Richardson has some of the most velocity I've ever seen put on a ball by a rookie; he has no touch and bad footwork but holy shit. Detroit has a ton of defensive depth suddenly, and battles at multiple positions. I still believe it's the Browns defense that will win them the division while everybody keeps talking about Watson, and I feel the same about the Broncos.
