I guess you can just use a spreadsheet, specially for Bitcoin only, but it's just nicer to have a dedicated tool for this.
There are great commercial ones, like Koinly for example, but I'm now interested in looking at open source ones.
So far, I've identified two of them:
- Rotki. This seems to be some kind of basic but nice looking open source platform that offers some premium features with a paid plan.
A portfolio tracking, analytics, accounting and management application that protects your privacy
- RP2. This one seems to be more comprehensive, and more open as there is no premium version, only open source.
Privacy-focused, free, open-source cryptocurrency tax calculator for multiple countries: it handles multiple coins/exchanges and computes long/short-term capital gains, cost bases, in/out lot relationships/fractioning, and account balances. It supports FIFO and it generates output in form 8949 format. It has a programmable plugin architecture.
Have you used any of these?, or know any other open source portfolio trackers?
