I recently opened an issue in a neat little testnet wallet called Padawan which is good for teaching new users of Bitcoin how to use Bitcoin without risking anything of value.
After my post titled Good UX wherein I talked about how good UX starts with teaching users how to use what you've created (and some other things like arial associations come second, but still important), it inspired me to open an issue for Padawan about its UX design philosophy.
To my surprise, part of the response to my issue was this: "If you know of anyone interested in taking a deep dive into this sort of thing, let me know. I might also get another student for next summer and might consider this a good summer project, not sure yet."
So if you want to learn Android app development and contribute to a Bitcoin FOSS project at the same time, this would be a great opportunity!
The project owner is also looking for translators: "Some of the short term goals for the app is translation into a few different languages, and a solidifying of the UI so that it works well and looks great on bigger and smaller devices."
Here's the issue I opened (more specifically a link to the reply I got) https://github.com/thunderbiscuit/padawan-wallet/issues/325#issuecomment-1679121626
I can make a good translation to french if he is interested

this seems like a neat little project he's making! having a 'Learn' feature and allowing users to mess with some testnet sats is a great way to help people learn how sending BTC works without potentially wasting real money on basic mistakes.

I'd be interested to see what @DarthCoin thinks of this.
I like this testnet training wallet a lot personally.
