I am enjoying the web app, using Brave for mobile and SN works well, it requires that the user has the know how to install SN as an app with Brave, but a native mobile app could add value. For instance, embedding TOR into the app, making the transactions and interaction more private and secure An onion address for SN would be a nice add too...

I’m a fan of the PWA. Gives me a pretty good, mostly native feeling experience, and it’s one code base.

With what mobile browser,? I am using Brave and it is quite good for it, haven't tried a Firefox base one yet.

@k00b mentioned a FOSS non official one: https://github.com/felipebueno/stacker_news/releases I install it, but can't make heads of tails of it, once installed (two different mobiles) it won't show in the app drawer...

How can I log in with my profile?

The majority would have used their NOSTR keys with nos2x Others would have used their LN wallet Others email etc

IMO, the safe bet is to start with NOSTR to sign in, what are your thought?

The question isn't whether it'd be good or bad. It's obviously good.

The question is whether it's worth us slowing down on adding features to provide mobile apps (to gamble on whether they'll be allowed in app stores).

Thanks for trying it out. The current version on Google Play is broken. I already fixed the issue but I haven't had the time to test and publish a new version.

I've been quite busy this past month so there was no time and energy for side projects. I'll try to get back working on the app ASAP

Tried the 1.2.3, no dice, it won't show in the drawer. Using Obtainium, getting the release directly from github.

An app will give a lot of visibility to SN, I doubt it could be approved due to the lightning payments (Look what happened to Damus - NoZap for posts AND YesZap for profiles 🤷)

Maybe just disable the zapPost for the mobile Apps? or find the way to prove that zapping the post is actually zapping the profile. Not sure how it will be possible to go around this absurdity.

Anyway, it could be an interesting project to challenge current media industry and join Damus on the fight

If you're using brave, it should let you know (we set the header for it).

Logins aren't supported at the onion address yet though.

I have to say, it gave me an error, nos2x popped twice, which was odd, but it worked. I just logged out and in, the first time failed, didn't go back to stacker.news, it just failed the log in, the second time worked.... odd, I guess still needs work...

I'm also using Brave browser on Android, do you see an animation lightning when zapping? I can see it using Chrome, but not in Brave. Not sure why.

Mobile app these days its not a Yes/No, it's a must!
