Perhaps strike is making it not worth it for them, also the shopify merchant market is shrinking, we can see that from their income statements, so less merchants, means less fees, so I guess downstream services within the eocsystem are all affected

No idea why CoinPayments would discontinue this.  They even had support for Lightning Network as well.   Maybe Shopify wanted a bigger cut, or forced CoinPayments out, who knows. 

Strike announced plans for a Shopify integration at Bitcoin 2022 conference, but that is still in development or testing and not yet live on Shopify.
