Hello my geeks, I'm in the market for a new phone now a I'm curious about what people around here consider a good phone to run grapheneOS on it...I'm also curious to know know if someone here (maybe not) has been using grapheneOS on a Solana phone. I don't even know if thats even possible. But I'm curious how that phone works out and if someone has tried it and is willing to share their experience...
Never have had an IPhone in my life and I'm not really considering on switching from Android, tbh... unless there really is a good reasong for it...
As always I appreciate your comments and any input you can provide...
Thank you frens

It has to be a pixel to run the official distribution of GrapheneOS as of today.
The Pixel 6a is by far the best bang for your buck. Amazing phone and very cheap. Maybe the 7a is also cheap as well.
Anything over the 6a will be better and more expensive, but less cost effective.
Have a look at the official site: https://grapheneos.org/faq#recommended-devices
They are actually really good at keeping documentation updated.
And the forums are also great: https://discuss.grapheneos.org/

GrapheneOS only supports Pixels due to hardware security requirements as they can use the phone's secure element. Other manufacturers either don't have one, or they permanently disable it when installing another OS (Samsung).
Pixel phones are sorted by the main model, the Pro model, and the A-series model. All the phones in those generations use the same processor so there isn't much of a speed difference. A-series ones are the cheapest and have the lowest spec camera and display, while the normal and the Pro have better versions.
The A-series ones always release last of their generation so they always have longer updates (7a's updates end later than 7 and 7 Pro).
If you don't care about the better display or camera go for the latest A-series model. If you want a tablet then Pixel Tablet is best bet and if you really want a folding display then the Pixel Fold exists.
