Smart building automation control is all the same algorithms from the 1980s, nowadays, we have different wrappers on them. New stuff doesn't save anymore energy than the bomb proof products from decades ago if looked after.
Shiny graphics, fancy dashboards, new interfaces, and technologies doesn't add anything, but you can charge more for them.
