So my earliest memory of Bitcoin, is thinking it was cool video game money that you could take out of your favorite game and import it to your new favorite game, which gives some kind of continuation of experience between otherwise unrelated games.
It is that to a degree especially Zebedee games, but I think I'd like to see something nicer and more structured....you know like, if you could pay creators an entry fee in Garys Mod or well...if Roblox used Bitcoin instead of Robux.
So this is Robux.

These guys do talk about shitcoins in their idea of what Robux is supposed to be. They're people who have never played the game before and probably only have a surface level understanding of the shitcoinery they mention, but don't miss the point. Robux is one (of many) games that allow the player to create games and they used the company script/in store credit/video game currency (whichever you prefer) to pay for in game items.
Using Bitcoin to buy in game items is definitely not new. People have been buying and selling CSGO skins for Bitcoin for a very long time: https://totalcsgo.com/skins/skin-trading-sites/cryptocurrency
You definitely don't need (or want imho) a specialized shitcoin for this purpose. Just use Bitcoin. What I think might be interesting is very specifically a game building game like Roblox, Gary's mod, VRChat, or any of the other game building games, that natively uses Bitcoin.
So that's the basic premise. Now I'll throw a couple of ideas of how it might specifically work.
I think it could be fun if the lore of the game was that you (the player) was a humble pleb who wanted to create a fun maze/Halloween haunted house/escape room etc. for their like city or for their friends or for their teachers/classmates whatever the situation is and their friends or teachers or whatever group of people you would have is going to help this person make this dream a reality. I'd probably make it one of those really boring rural towns with really bored kids to really sell why the player is motivated to do this. Then maybe you have a skill tree where more NPCs are going to help with creating your level, you're allowed to have more complex structures in the level or something.
So what do you think of the idea? How would you flesh this out?
