Quite a first game of the season last night! Congrats to our Lions fan friends here on SN. A hard fought win and the first upset of the year.
Fortunately, no one had the Chiefs in the survivor pool. Speaking of which the masses (all 8 of you) have spoken and want an additional weekly NFL contest besides the survivor pool, so Friday's posts for the rest of the NFL season will be precisely that.
1000 sats up for grabs.
Pick the 3 winners straight up and the tiebreaker question.
Game 1: Packers v.s Bears Game 2: Cowboys v.s Giants- SNF Game 3: Bills v.s Jets- MNF Tiebreaker: Total points in Bills vs Jets game
Whoever gets the most winners correct wins. Tiebreaker only relevant if we have two or more people with the same amount of correct selections. Tiebreaker is closest to the total score (over or under). Since it is a bounty, if there is still a tie after the tie breaker, first person to have locked in their picks wins.
Let the game begin.

1,000 sats paid
grayruby's bounties
I legit thought this was like 1000 sat buy in each week!
Packers (Still owning the Bears) Cowboys (gross, hate em) Jets (Rodgers still can play) 45 points
reply
Winner winner chicken dinner even if you did have a lapse in self confidence when Rodgers went down.
You're the new champ. Now you must defend your title in week 2.
reply
Seriously, I've never tilted more back and forth on my wagers tonight. Good to be reminded that gambling in any meaningful way is a recipe for diaster haha. I would feel bad if this is the end to Rodgers career, the Jets have some bad luck. Also may cost the Packers a 1st round draft pick.
reply
Nah. Just a fun contest. Was hoping a few folks that aren't in the survivor pool would join in.
reply
I would very much like to take back my Jets choice after seeing Rodgers get carted off after one drive haha. Wagering on Zack Wilson just doesn't hit the same lol
reply
Ye of little faith. Zach attack brought it home. Or Josh Allen did. Either way. Jets win. Their D was great.
reply
Happy to see the chiefs go down but it’s a long season. I’m more excited to see where the lions go from here hopefully a division title. Dan the man Campbell going for it from his own 17. Weeeee doggie
reply
I am honestly shocked that Fox still have Terry Bradshaw doing the highlight calls. He stumbled over his sentences, never once getting through it without mispronouncing names and losing his place. Legend, but they start thinking who's next for his place.
reply
Packers Giants Bills 47
reply
1/3. Allen let ya down.
reply
Facts only week 1 long season
reply
Yeah. Didn't mind the first INT. Deep ball on third down. Maybe you get a big play or penalty. If it's incomplete or intercepted no big deal. Interception hurts the stats but not sure they could have punted it better than that. But he has to clean this area of his game up.
reply
Bears cowboys bills 45
reply
1/3. Not enough this time.
reply
very similar to what the Survivor Pool account picked. Except for the Cowgirls.
reply
Idk if that’s good or bad…
reply
Survival Pool account is pretty smart, not sure why it trolls me so much. I am such a big fan.
reply
Packers, Cowboys, Bills, 50
reply
I'm older now but still running against the the wind.
First person to pick the Pack.
reply
i see a bob seger reference, i zap sats
reply
He doesn't get enough love. So many great songs.
reply
Until proven otherwise, I assume the Bears are a trainwreck and the Packers are competent.
reply
Packers still have a legitimate D. But I don't believe in Jordan Love at all. If fields has taken this step forward everyone's saying he has. Then I think the bears could be better than the pack. But that's like deciding which you'd rather have a wound on your left leg or a wound on your right leg. Neither is gunna be great.
reply
Quick! Who's the best QB in Bears history? Expecting a decent Bears QB is like expecting a decent Raiders defense.
reply
Smoking Jay Cutty ;) I think Cutlers gotta be up there in discussion as best bears QB.
reply
I think you're right and nothing could make my case better than that.
reply
Yeah. It's not a glowing résumé.
I think Jim McMahon was better but point made.
Fair. I think Bears will be better this year and I don't know what to make of Pack.
reply
I remember when my stupid team traded the best defensive player in the league to the Bears and everyone assumed they'd be good...
reply
I thought the Bears were going to be good when they had Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery. Apparently that was a decade ago so yeah waiting for the Bears to be good again is like shitcoiners waiting for their shitcoin to get back to ATH.
reply
It's a shame that it's unlikely to finish 0-0 and that it would count on their records as a draw. Which is better than a Loss. You score 0 points and Draw, you both get an L in my eyes.
reply
This is how I feel when the Red Sox and Yankees play each other.
reply
Oh so close.
reply
I was feeling pretty good about my chances when Rodgers went down. I'm glad I decided against against gloating prematurely.
reply
Yeah I thought you had it. Even after the game tying FG I thought the bills would win in OT. Allen had a terrible night but I am really impressed with the Jets D.
reply
Yeah and there punt return unit
reply
reply
bears, giants, jets, 42pts
reply
oh, and GO LIONS!!!
reply
A lot of love for the Jets. I think they will have a good year but let's see it in action I say.
reply
Salah has done a hell of a job turning round that team. That D is legit.
reply
Of course. All the Shanahan disciples do well. I think Ryans is going to do well in Houston once the roster gets a bit better. He was great as 49ers D coordinator.
Shanahan would be a top 3 coach if he hadn't fucked up the 4th quarter of the superbowl vs the Chiefs and 4th quarter of the NFC championship game vs the Rams. I still think he is a top 10 coach but gotta tighten it up in big games. Even last years NFC Championship, he doesn't throw the challenge flag and hands Philly the first 7 points of the game. Was moot because Purdy got hurt but that game could have come down to that play if Purdy hadn't gotten hurt. Oh well. SB this year.
reply
no love for the jets from me, especially after they picked up rodgers. but i do think they'll beat the bears
reply
I just can't stand Rodgers either.
reply
You mean Bills?
reply
lol, yes. i do mean bills
reply
1/3 pretty good in baseball. Not enough to win.
reply
Bears, Cowboys, Jets 35 points
reply
2/3 and nice job on the points but it is moot as Turd had 3/3
reply
Didn't see Jets pulling it out. They have to go shopping. I can't see Zach starting
reply
Sam Darnold? Haha
reply
Sad to say it would be an upgrade
reply
Two Jets fans respond. Both with the wrong answer. It's nice to have dreams. Haha.
reply
Or are they both right?
reply
Could very well be. I still think the Bills are a better team but it's week 1 and Jets will be fired up playing at home with their new QB.
reply
Easy!
Bears, Giants, Bills. 45.
(This is not a valid selection- for trolling purposes only)
reply
You're trolling but that's pretty much (aside from the points) exactly what I chose 😂😂
reply
I didn't put much thought into the pick I know we have one Packers fan and two Jets fans in the Survivor Pool and I absolutely hate the Cowboys. So that was my in depth analysis. Haha.
That being said. I don't think it's crazy or anything. All those games could go either way.
reply
Haha you suck. Oh wait.
reply
Bears, cowboys, jets, 38pts
reply
Nice job on the points but moot as Turd had 3/3
reply
Damn I thought I had it
reply
I thought you did too after watching the game but when I logged on and reviewed the picks I realized turd had all 3 correct.
reply
Damnit poop
reply
Low scoring MNF. I like it.
reply
Why do you hate me? picking between the bears and green bay??? Makes me feel all gross inside. Bears Giants Bills 49
reply
Do you really want to hurt me? Do you really want to make me cry?
Yes, yes I do.
reply
reply
Packers, Giants, Jets, 45
reply
Not bad but Turd had 3/3
