My take is Mario 3 for NES (side scroller)
Secret of Evermone for SNES (RPG)
Donkey Kong for SNES (side scroller)
And then Mario Kart 64, and Goldeneye 64 for multi-player.
These all stand the test of time IMO and atr still fun and engaging to play.

I don't know if the best, but TOP GEAR was one of my favorite back in the days
Doesn't hold up IMO. But a solid racer back in the day
No,It doesn't.... but I think I've heard some people saying Top Gear was the inspiration for Forza Motorsports... which has been the best Car Racing Simulation Video Game Evolution in my opinion....

Command and conquer, red alert. That was the first computer game that I bought.

The original Warcraft (Tides of Darkness) almost made my list.
Crash Bandicoot was an underrated scroller.
