Blackrock is an asset manager representing tens of millions of people. Their goal is AUM and fees not hostile takeovers.

Now it is possible, maybe even likely, that in a contentious hard fork scenario they would support the anti-pleb chain whatever that might look like.

But I am not worried about them trying commandeer the network, buy up all the miners etc. I am worried about people not being diligent and letting Blackrock custody their Bitcoin and Blackrock having way too large of the bitcoin supply in custody to make any of us comfortable. The solution to that problem is long term holders never selling at any price (borrow against if you need capital but hold forever). There are only 2M BTC on exchanges and that number is declining. Even if blackrock acquired half of that they would still only hold less than 5% of total supply which is lower than their stake in many large companies where their funds own 7-8%. Although 5% is still way too high. Stack those sats now and get them off exchanges.
