I don't like labels. I bristle when one is slapped on me. I guess I try to think for myself and I despise prejudice. Labels have utility though so this is why I'm using one now. Maxi's get a lot of criticism. Much of this is fair and needed but they aren't wrong. I could write a very long post about all the areas they are right about. The one that comes to mind today is that "crypto" has poisoned the well. Over and over again I get the following reaction from no-coiners.

I start talking about something and we are on the same page. As soon as I mention how bitcoin works into the subject I lose them. I'm not into that crypto stuff. Seems scammy. A real barrier has been created by the shitcoin scammers. Yes, I will admit that there are plenty of "bitcoiners" that are a part of the same problem but they are the minority. I don't know if the approach of being toxic is the best way to combat this snake oil salesmen image that is put on bitcoin but it is one approach. Its not my approach but I would not say it is the wrong way.

How do we change this perception? I think we don't sell bitcoin. Soft sell it. Just use it. Talk about its utility, not as a get rich quick gimmick. Talk about it can it increase freedom and sovereignty. Adapt how you talk about it the person. Encourage they do their own research. Find common ground. When they start talking about the crypto bros find common ground with them. Shift the conversation to the problems with fiat but don't use the technical / economic terms most people don't understand.
