Calling all stackers!
Leave a comment below to let the SN community know what you're working on this week. It doesn't matter how big or small your project is, or how much progress you've made.
Just share what you're up to, and let the community know if you want any feedback or help.
If you missed last week's thread, here are the updates stackers shared from all their latest work projects.
Sorry stackers but this week you have to live with my shitposting and fighting shitcoiners on SN. All week will rain and I can't go back to continue my citadel building. Will do exactly this: posting all day on SN, drinking beers and answer bitcoin questions to stackers and my fellow padawans on telegram.
This is an example of many requests I have to answer on my telegram and I try to help them all with anything I can.
PS edit: as I always said to fellow bitcoiners - start learning hard about bitcoin and be that guy that will help all those 8 billion out there that they have no clue about bitcoin. Darth can't help them all...

for anyone who's curious, i just uploaded our first EP onto Wavlake. thanks to @DarthCoin for telling me about this project!

LFG! Time for zapping music!

Sorry I would have some observations (please don't take me wrong):
  1. voice level is too weak compared to the rest, increase the volume for voice
  2. the guitar solo is nice but put some more volume when is the front solo
  3. put some "strong" engagement in the voice. Comparing with the rhythm of the rest is like from another song. The battery is like on a heavy metal, the voice is like blues and the guitar is on another planet. Sorry, please accept critics. Have some harmony in the group.

do you have some tracks on https://www.wavlake.com/?
reply
no, i haven't heard of this before but this is very cool. looking into it now, maybe i'll have the tracks on there later today ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Wrapping up some feedback on PRs that I opened while k00b was out last week. More exciting stuff coming for stackers!

Continuing work on what I discussed last week: #245900
Recap:
What
A lightning wallet that supports multiple NOSTR and LNURL sources so that you can aggregate your custodial accounts and non-custodial nodes and sprinkle in some automated rules.
Update
We've found that most services supporting LNurl-Withdraw don't do so in a reusable way.
Withdraw links time out (@SN), or the service itself doesn't have CORS configured for use with WebApps (have reached out to a few... some have fixed but others haven't).
This may limit this features utility largely to LNbits back-ends.
We've largely moved on to the Nostr RPC elements so that users will be able to more easily provide accounts to friends, family, clients and webapps without complex server configurations.
Feedback
How would you like to see a wallet use LNurl-Withdraw? As a spending source you use semi-regularly? A one-time voucher to sweep funds another account/node?
What else should we know about how to make the perfect Lightning wallet?
reply
If our implementation is broken, please let us know. I'm always up for ways we can support interop.
reply
I wouldn't say it's broken as the spec does not say withdraw k1's must be reusable. But you could make the case they're more like vouchers than true withdrawal endpoints as implemented.
Actually the fact that we didn't have CORS issues with SN is an improvement over most other services. I found that as a CORS workaround some Lightning Address tools are proxying them through a back-end. That is not only unnecessary but doing so could normalize logging or MITM shenanigans.
Anyhow, SN would be a great service to demo this concept with. If you decide to disable the timeout on withdrawal k1s, such that a wallet can use them as a payment source, I'd gladly produce demo's flexing SN like so: https://lightning.video/017c91486137f82cc1300bcb2f7cc9a2c654300101e1ecbc82d642c46a24d564
reply
IIRC My concern with replayable challenges was that they're ... replayable access to the funds of the wallet, e.g. I scan a QR over someone's shoulder.
It seems like there should be additional authentication around such a thing.
reply
That is a valid trade-off, though if that occurs someone could just as easily snipe it first.
To avoid accidental capture over Zoom etc, perhaps before rendering the user should click a warning or choose a voucher vs. persistence.
Once Lightning Pub is stable I hope to displace LNURL with Nostr methods so that everything can use keys.

evoseducation.org - launching kids financial literacy courses! Couldn't be more excited. The content is basically monetary history, trad finance and then digital finance and Bitcoin/Lightning. Couldn't be more excited to launch this.

Enjoying watching stubborn clients burn their revenue because they didn't want to pay me to fix it in the first place, nature is healing

Yes its basically the standard for normie tracking, and because most people use google ads to drive leads for their business, its just about keeping them in the ecosystem, the amount of data google gets is damn near insane.
People have very little appreciation for how much they are being tracked and manipulated online, while its my job,, it still gives me the creeps

Oh and the last two days I was mostly reviewing/merging/refining PRs.

I'm taking a week off soon to work on some Nostr code. I started a Nostr library for Common Lisp a while ago, but I never got around to making it functional. The cryptography, database, and websocket code are mostly useless. But I think I can get it all working within a week of focused work.
My stretch goals (i.e. probably not gonna happen) for that week:
  • Work on a NIP for websites on Nostr. I've got a rough draft, but there's some criticial things that I need to sort out.
  • Work on my prog rock album. This will probably be the other thing I work on when I hit a wall with Nostr stuff.
