Carmina Burana: O Fortuna by Carl Orf
A particularly emotive piece used in so many films etc. And medieval European languages are decidedly foreign to me…
Always liked Carmina Burana, it's so epic. Really portrays grandeur and and sense of urgency.
If you like that have you heard of Nightwish? I can't remember if I mentioned it to you before but I'm sure I mentioned ghost love score https://youtu.be/47e_961OQWE?si=AUI8BQ6chgZmBBr2 to someone last week. But ghost love score has some very Carmina Burana-esq elements in it that make it quite an epic piece of music.

Love ‘Ghost Love Score’.
We have chatted about Nightwish we talked about when I saw them on their last tour supported by Beast in Black.
Glad you made it back from the land of haggis and midges. And if you ever doubt the madness AND bravery of a Scotsman remember that one landed on the Normandy Beaches in WW2 to retake Europe wearing a kilt and playing the bagpipes…

Yes it was you I was talking with about it! Midges musta gotten to my brain my memory is all over the place.
Indeed they are crazy up there. There's something really imposing about seeing people in kilts and playing pipes.
If you like the sound of pipes have you tried Triddana - Dare to Tame Me (https://youtu.be/Q7BFQirsrLQ?si=90Qqt-7m01q7W9Gj) Argentinians playing Celtic inspired metal. Really cool band.

That’s really cool - can feel myself down a musical rabbit hole. That may even edge out the Badpiper’s version of Thunderstruck as my favourite bagpipe tune…

The guy with the fire blowing out the pipes in the streets of Edinburgh?? (Might not have been Edinburgh) he was excellent, really good fun. But yeah Triddana have some excellent tracks.

That’s him - I think he is an Aussie by birth though. Mrs Fandango doesn’t like the bagpipes much but she is sort-of-sold on the Uilleann pipes of Troy Donockley so that’s a suitable compromise.
There is a guy from Portland who rides a unicycle dressed as Darth Vader playing the Star Wars theme… but that’s just daft.
reply
I've seen the vadar one and daft is the best description. From pure entertainment factor the guys got something going. But it is indeed daft.

He did another one with him as a rebel pilot taking down an AT-AT in the style of Empire Strikes Back.. but I may have imagined that..
