I was one of the first few accounts to sign up for Twitter in 2006 and, no joke, it changed my life because of the early connections I made and community I found.

But it's a total shit show these days. Ruined by brands and people building 'personal brands'. I strongly believe that it's named verified accounts that are the most toxic on social media. People and corps trying to make a name for themselves and monetising clicks that is the REAL issue. Not anons. (Just think how this plays out in Bitcoin, how often is it wannabe influencers rugging and shitcoining whilst the anons stay true?)

I NEVER had any account on Twatter or FBIbook.

I only remember a Yahoo messenger account but back in the early days, for playing games.

I don't like social media. I like SN because is only about Bitcoin. Is all that matter.

I never used social media much, even though I was in that first wave of Facebook accounts, back when it was only for college students.

I'm a private person, so the idea of sharing all the boring details of my life online just didn't appeal to me.

And I honestly never thought Facebook would become as big as it did. Even less so the fact that suddenly the older generation would become so interested in it

I always thought MySpace was for vain people when it came out. Didn't mess with social media until Facebook started popping off in the late 2000s. It actually was fun and useful back then.

When I logged into the lighthouse BBS it had an internet message board. I thought, this is awesome!

When I entered Twitter years ago I thought this would replace normal press agencies. In a way it did. But traditional press structures are persistent.

I remember logging into elfworld and blackplanet back in my internet cafe days. Rarely used facebook in the past, just thought it was a headache. Never used Instagram/Snapchat/Tiktok, the only reason I hopped on twitter was to find other bitcoiners. I'm using nostr and stacker exclusively now.
