For all Bitcoin enthusiasts, CBDC is just funny weird crypto, including me. However, I can think of several ways CBDC could be helpful. Imagine if a debtor couldn't send money to an online casino until they paid their rent and child support. Imagine if an alcoholic couldn't buy large quantities of alcohol until they paid off their debts and had health insurance. I know, I know, they could also ban the purchase of Bitcoin or restrict meat consumption, but some people would need money that they can't spend on unnecessary things.
I'am bitcoiner and will not use CBDC, but i think it may help some poor and not clever people. Because they are no able to manage their money and need help.
What do you think? Is that true? Can you see something positive on CBDC?
A small benefit does not excuse the evil. I struggle to see anything positive about such an insidious concept as CBDCs. It’s like excusing the crimes of Pol Pot because he had a beautiful singing voice IMHO

Supposing those things are desirable, the question then becomes whether it should be the central bank who is responsible for restricting the user's funds.
Those examples you listed are also possible with, say, a multi-sig system where some keys are entrusted by guardians (parents, friends, etc.). This seems more flexible and beneficial than the CBDC benefits you listed.

sounds like an Orwellian dystopia. Jesus dude. whoever is in power gets to set the rules of how the money you worked for gets spent. or should I say how you spend "their" money? lol, abortion and porn spending gone when GOP takes power, gun shop and meat spending gone when Dems take power, gasoline quotas and plastic taxes when Greenpeace takes power. should keep adding up until only taxes can be paid.
