If you're too poor for a Pixel, or value your sats more than that, can also use Lineage OS or /e/ OS with a used (or new) android of your choice (important is that it's on their list of supported devices) and since Darth went back to his citadel (or is maybe too drunk today) I'll be his spokeperson and shill his guide https://darthcoin.substack.com/p/bitcoiners-mobile-device

I bought my pixel 6a second hand at $300. So the 6a and maybe the 7a could be good enough too.

Install GSF in a separate user profile for Uber and all the crappy apps that require it

90% confident this is my next phone upgrade. I've been getting along with a 5 year old iPhone.
My main concern is becoming out of touch with mainstream retail phone usage.

By this? Certain demographics in the US are only ever going to us the iPhone. I fear becoming out of touch with those demos - boomers and yuppies - who are the cornerstone of high end retail.

I'm attempting to become more out of touch with those demos

Who cares about the opinions of those owning less and less of their consumer tech because of loyalty to a shitty lifestyle brand?
I wouldn't even have a Pixel if more devices like it supported both Calyx and Graphene. But if I have to buy it, it will be either refurbed or through Swappa.
Google will never get my money directly on anything not accessories, if even that.

Do you plan on using google play store apps?
reply
I'm currently in the process of setting everything up. It seems that my bank app may require Google Play Store, but I've heard that I can use Aurora Store as an alternative, which means I won't need a Google Account. Once I have finished setting everything up, I will write a new post to share my overall experience with the operating system and highlight any limitations I may have encountered.

Just did the exact same thing last month. No going back!
