Howdy there, partner! Welcome on into the Stacker Saloon.
Saddle on up to a stool and spill the beans about your day, fire away with them questions, or let loose and give us the lowdown on your wild and woolly life. We're all ears, so don't hold back!
We're open round the clock, so mosey on in whenever you please!
Walnut season opened. The nuts are in the drying phase nowadays.

@weareallsatoshi @rleed @ekzyis I'm a little behind on PRs. I'll try to clear everything that's not in draft tomorrow.
reply
No worries!
ETA: is there anything we can do to make the review process easier for you?
reply
You already do a great job. This process is inherently slow so no big worries there.
When I get extra slowed down, it's usually because
  1. something is insufficient in UI/UX
  2. I catch some obvious areas for improvement in terms of simplifications/idioms/code reuse/performance
These are on the subjective side for one and for another they're sometimes non-obvious depending on familiarity with the code and deps.
Even when the code is perfect, testing it, reading line by line, and then context switching from pr to pr is slow.

If we could all just buy a little more in the next 75 minutes please?
would love for the weekly candle to punch above the 200W ema before close

One of the weird side effects of caring and paying a lot of attention to people is that you can be mean by simply describing who they are because we are prone to self denial.

I agree in general. The right to refuse feedback is void in some circumstances though, eg you're in some fashion dependent on the person or they're behaving like a huge ass.

Learned something interesting about Morocco and Algeria: most people there still use cash and naturally do not trust the banks.! also, they don't even have credit cards there.
reply
perfect candidates to skip the banks altogether
reply
yes, quite lucky in a sense.! Some people are so used to the banks that they are harder to unprogram, yet others can avoid it once and for all.

My favorite role in human networking is serving as the connector. It’s way more scalable.

Is there is a followers count ? @k00b
reply
I kind of want to avoid artificial friendship stuff. I think it's a trap.
We don't have follower counts in real life.
reply
I think thats “how many restraining orders have you filed”

Quick question: at what size of transaction should I choose lightning or onchain?
is 300k sats still deep in Lightning territory?
reply
All depends on how much liquidity you have, how much you're willing to take the slight security risks lightning can have for payments going through, whether you're using custodial lightning or not, etc.
Basically, no one can really answer the question for you
reply
no quick answer for that. you don't necessarily know how much liquidity is available to you at any time. One also imagines that at higher amounts the fees also go up. I wonder if there's already a website tracking all that.

Started a 21-day challenge in which I aimed to learn something new about Bitcoin or interact with its ecosystem every day. I would also record my progress on Stacker News.
Day 7 - Visited litstak.com which awards you one sat for looking at two options and then voting for the content you prefer to stay victorious. Looked at 50 such “death matches” for images created by Midjourney and got 50 sats (the maximum number distributed per day) for my effort.
reply
Well done. These interactions will compound your knowledge

Yo. Bought a pork steak of 380g and paid 1,80 Euros. Here in the villages of Greece inflation came to a halt due to their economic meltdown that never saw a recovery. Sad for the people, I still pay the same rent for my house like 10 years ago...
Cheers anybody. I will have a ''Mythos'' beer now.

ᕦ(ò_óˇ) Day 16 of exercising everyday before the saloon opens.
Went for a 20min run at 10AM. Was ok. I hoped it would feel easier but I think it's just been too long again since I went for a run.
Then I wanted to buy an iced coffee again but when I was in front of the store, I realized it's Sunday. lol
reply
Closed on Sunday? Is that common where you live?
reply
Yes, regular grocery stores are closed on Sunday. I didn't go to a coffee shop. Is this what you thought and why you are surprised?
reply
Pretty much the only thing reliably closed on Sundays in the US is Chick-fil-A. I did figure you went to a coffee shop though, yea.
reply
Ouh wow, interesting, didn't know that!
reply
Well done for getting out! You lose a point for not knowing what day it is….

yeeehaaaaa!

Good morning to NY! Sun is shining here, water temp 25celsius.... first beer waiting
reply
Are you back in Spain?
reply
No. I will stay in Crete during October. You get addicted to the silence
reply
Nice. I'm looking forward to the colder weather. I haven't reached the age where NYers are required to migrate south for the winter yet.
reply
In 1989 we went to NYC - in December! Maaaaan, windchill like jumping into a pond of ice.
reply
The wind does get to me. There's nothing like cranking up your wood stove and listening to it howling outside. Right now I am looking forward to it. I'll be complaining by November.
reply
Sounds romantic. I am addicted to the mediterranean sun...
Sweet. Enjoy the sunny day. It's also a beautiful day by us today.

Yeees. Thanks. Best wishes to You, too.

Could you see the other fotos?
I have rented this place over 15 years ago. And I will delete the posts again, don't worry.

Yesterday was the first time I incorporated my newly discovered term into my thoughts. I took my dog on a long walk. When we get home she leaves a gary right by the front door. (edit: to be clear, it was outside, not inside. I dont want to really insult her)
