You like it? I was writing a short story and didn’t feel it was going anywhere. These are a condensed version of the opening lines.

I do like it. I was wondering if there was a literal inspiration. Really old hands can be shocking. I remember looking at my great grandfather's as a kid. They terrified my sister.

Yeah. My grandfathers…. He lost the use of them towards the end. He was a craftsman in his dsy

My great grandfather made it to 101. He had a backwards immigration experience, where he went from wealth to poverty. By the time he hit his mid 90s the skin on his hands was almost completely transparent.

And that’s an interesting statement about reverse immigration - kinda where my short story was headed. In this case; A man treading water, minding his own business, yet being blown backwards by his government & inflation.
Wow. I remember my friends grandmother - her skin was like tissue paper…
