Introducing Quantico, a website where you can rate recently released music videos.
But there is a twist: for each music video published, there is a prediction market on the number of views the video will accumulate in less than a week.
Your reputation on the website is linked to your ability to predict viral songs. The more right you are, the more exposure we will give to the music you curate. Meritocracy at its best!
Music reviews can receive small micropayments. I started by using Webcash, a cryptocurrency inspired by ecash, because it is perfect for integrating normal users into the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
But I was planning to add lightning tipping and I wanted to get your opinion on that !
Let's change the music industry !
It's inspired by SN but doesn't accept bitcoin lightning tipping?
reply
You are right, but IMHO the first innovation of SN is to prove that tipping for content on asocial commenting website works and can foster a healthy community.
The people I showed first and tested the website with , have only a vague idea about crypto. And for them sadly, lightning was already a step too high. That's why I tested the idea first with Webcash ( no wallet and no fees ).
Now that I am more confident and about to tie it with lightning. I wanted to show it before it's "completed" and gather some unexpected feedback !

I have to disagree. Look at nostr. People who never heard of the lightning network began zapping sats back and forth almost instantly. They caught on quickly, and many have been fully orange pilled.

I see where you come from !
But I talk to artists daily, introducing and onboarding them on nostr. And I can assure you that for now it hasn't even begin to register on their radar. Let alone lightning.
Nostr for example, in the grand scheme of thing, is still incredibly niche. But I am working on it. It's just that from my point of view it requires intermediate steps to bring people in !!
Can I ask you once I add lightning support, would you be interested in music reviews or comments ? do you have a favorite music genre ?
reply
I dont really see an ecash token as being an intermediate step. Putting that aside, I'm a boomer. Musical interests are old: blues, R&B, classic rock, so I may not be your target demographic anyway.
reply
Noted ! I will keep your genres in mind.
For ecash, this a debate for another day :)

Yeah, not interested with whatever this 'webcash' crap is, and I expect most people here will feel similarly.
Best of luck.

Lightning tipping is the best way to make micro-transactions
