Everytime I there is a thread by @DarthColn, I start reading it but midway realizing it is not @DarthCoin but an impostor. This is good time to discuss how various forums and online communities deal with impersonators/ impostors, and what could be future for SN.
Although, I can curate my own feed by Muting or Downvoting such profiles, and it also shows outlawed tag as well; but nevertheless it exists.
I think there should some form of censorship or reporting page for such profiles, if it becomes too disruptive for others. Some examples of how other apps have implemented this -

Random thought I had. How about a checksum type scheme which is reflected by a visual cue, like the color of the nym (or it could be anything else, whatever is least intrusive)
That way you can quickly see at a moments glance that the user is not the same as the one you're used to seeing
I guess it wouldn't help new users who don't know the "color" of the genuine vs the "color" of the fake, but that should be pretty quick to pick up
I'm trying to avoid resorting to any kind of centralized or even community driven censorship.

yes, I noticed that whenever I @DarthCoin, also there was another one using @ Darth
I stalk the real Darth, so I don't really see things from those scammers, but it's also quite easy to detect by the tones and content, because impostores aren't original.

Now, this is real but who knows?

Perhaps this post could become an unofficial list of impostor nyms?
Subscribers to this post can see when another impostor might be reported.
We do need a more foolproof, way though really - especially for old fools (with poor eyesight) like myself!

I'll admit it, I fucked up and zapped the scammer 1 time. They're muted now ;_;

Beware, another imposter just popped up @k0b instead of original @k00b
I didn’t notice it at first, then I muted the imposter, flagged some of their content, and moved on.
