I NEVER rebalance, only in very special cases when I really want to do that with a channel ins specific situation. I wrote here an article explaining the experiement with my node with doing routing without ANY useless rebalancing.
IMHO, obsessive rebalancing is stupid and doesn't help at all the network. I totally agree with what ZeroFeeRouting is saying in this tweet about having a way in the LN code to announce the channel balance and have a non-failed routing.
It is just stupid to hide behind a higher or lower fee when a channel is inbalanced or even disable the channel. Disabling channels because are depleted on one side I think is even idiotic, is like closing the door to possible routing, that channel is totally useless and not productive.
Just with a bit of patience and good peers, the channels will go back to life even if are depleted. I observed that to my node.
The most important thing is that new node operators if they really want to route, will have to maintain a good stability of their node and number of their peers, not running a 2-3-10 channels node and want to route 1BTC/day. You need to expand to have as many connections you can.
If not, just use a private node for your personal payments and done, no need to be public and stay in the way. Private channels works in a different way. You can even use a mobile LN wallet like Blixt if you really want to have a LN node but not for routing.
I never disable channels and I never rebalance them. Are balancing themselves by finding the right peers. I also use low fees ppm with 0 base fee forever.
We don't have fuck each others with high fees... remember we are here to fuck the banksters not to each others.
Maybe I didn't express that right.. But I was thinking about lowering the fee even below zero on some channels.

If you do not have good peers and enough to start moving sats around, even if you lower to 0/0 will not do that rebalance.
Just start opening more channels and also have some inbound channels opened towards you and have your total liquidity balanced not individual channels.
Please read that guide, it is explained there in details.
