That's what money's for. You used bitcoin to store value and then you exchanged it for something you needed.

You did exactly what we need people to do, if we want bitcoin to become the default money.

Exactly. I've done this too. Stored everything in bitcoin and needed to sell to pay for something important. I feel it is still a better store of value than USD for that purpose too.
