The survivor pool has been rocked and it had to be the 49ers, didn't it. It was inevitable. Ugh. The league has figured out exactly what they want to do offensively and defensively and when they weren't beating themselves last night, the Vikings played them like a fiddle. Even in our sorrow over the 49ers no longer looking like the best team in football (I know it hurts) let us all give @Public_N_M_E his moment in the sun. For one week at least "Purple reign, purple reign".

While everyone besides Public was busy cursing my 49ers for rug pulling them, the Texas Rangers were defeating the Houston Astros handily in game 7 to move onto the world series which means our abysmal mlb playoff bracket challenge will come down to the WS run tiebreaker. So, we wait to crown a champ. Dbacks also forced a game 7 which if they win will be quite the upset. I did pose the question a week ago "are the phillies too hot at this point" and they went on to lose 3 of the next 4. I should have asked the same question of the 49ers after that game against the Cowboys.

@Wumbo is now the champ of the NFL weekly pick 'em with an unimpressive 1/3 record that was tied with about 6 other participants but won on the tiebreaker. Bounce back week coming for everyone, I feel it.

We have 5 participants for the frozen frenzy hockey challenge so the payout will be 5000 sats paid to the winner tomorrow after I go through all 16 games (survivor pool is gonna be livid when he finds out the scope of work for his new gig).

I was talking with @Undisciplined yesterday about possibly doing something for the NBA in-season tournament. Any interest in that?
