Good morning stackers.
Where I can I'll try to bring you new music as often as I can. So let's see what you've all come across. Music released within the last month? Week? Year?
Exit eden is a project with multiple artists from various different bands. Anna Brunner - League of Distortion Clémentine Delauney - Visions of Atlantis. Marina La Torraca - Phantom Elite
Previous album involved Amanda Somerville and was a fantastic album of cover versions. (https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_nrdFvsDIAvG6xv-Fbp3LlaiFX9Ii-5gIk&si=aAtqHxebOF5vnCcO)
This track they released off their upcoming second studio album "Femmes Fatales" features a favourite vocalist of mine. Marko Heitala, with Run. I've always loved Markos vocals so it was a pleasure to hear him back in music after his departure from Nightwish. I've followed his career with Tarot and with Northern Kings aswell, both worth checking out. (Yes Northern Kings is another supergroup with a covers album... And it's great... Maybe I have a type.)

Dropped only 2 weeks ago! Nice soft rock sound, there's some American country sounding elements maybe? Could call it country rock? Loved the harmonising guitars, they strangely reminded me of the guitar solo in "love is only a feeling" by the darkness. It's hard to put my finger on what the sound is, I likened them to Bastille originally, then Daughter, I can't quite make my mind up. But I liked it.

I meant daughtry... But autocorrect did me made me look a fool.

Vildhjarta will never not make me feel

Nice, very recent only dropped in October. That instrumental section at about 2.30ish was great. Wicked riff.
I have no idea what they're saying or what language their speaking, I'm guessing somewhere in Scandinavia?
I hear a lot of meshuggah in their sound, that's who they bring up in my head.
reply
Yes!
Swedish band, just like Meshuggah, and are influenced by them. It's amience djent.
Listen to their two latest albums Måsstaden and Måsstaden (under vatten). Oh my god it's os many feels.
I cried a lot to (under vatten)😅.
If you love riffage, this is your stuff.

I'll definitely put that on my to do. Got a leg session tomorrow with at least one of those albums I can listen to during.

Why the northen metal sounds better with a female voice accompanying or being lead voice? Nice song though.

I don't know but it just does. Symphonic metal is just brilliant. Some incredible vocalists in that genre. I remember this track being released. It was fantastic, I always loved Sharon's ethereal and light voice and Tarjas vocals always pack a punch. Brilliant combination of incredible front women love that selection for today.

I would love to see a duet version of the JP song "Prisoner of your eyes" with Rob Halford and Doro. Recently they released a new duo of Total Eclipse of the Heart
They are a nice duet.
reply
Speaking of total eclipse of the heart. Did you check the first link of the post? The album from exit eden contains covers of total eclipse of the heart, paparazzi and a bunch of others. It's a really decent album with female fronted symphonic sounds.
reply
That was not how I expected to hear Rob Halford this morning. But that was great! He's surprisingly versatile for someone who often gets pigeon holed into "just a metal" vocalist. Rob Halford is super under rated in my eyes. He's up there in the world of metal vocalists like Bruce Dickinson.

I almost missed Meta Music Monday. This cannot stand.
New Music. Gotta be a shout out to our fellow bitcoiner @joemartinmusic

There's some Don McLean there I think. Very smooth voice. Cheers GR for showing me that!
reply
Ah, right!
Forgot to add Ren. His album dropped now and it's a masterpiece
reply
I came across Ren a little while ago with "Hi Ren" and that was an incredible piece. The dudes an absolute wordsmith and a magician with what he's able to do. I've got a lot of respect for him. I'm looking forward to hearing that album during the week.

Chris Webby - North Of Richmond (Remix)

The bass behind that is great, simple but really well produced. Nice long sustained buzz on it without over taking the rest of the track, just adds depth to it.
I'm not going to pretend to understand anything about hip-hop and rappers but I didn't think he was bad, he just seemed real and that came across.

You might be but @0fje0 and @Bullen got the memo 😜
Hey I don't mind, whatever sparks discussion and the sharing of good music I am all for. And we've had some great tracks suggested today which I've really enjoyed.

Hey, I was lucky!
Read the title, though I saw "month" in the post, posted my track and then went:
"Oh wait, was it really about spamming music?" and then I read it 😅
reply
Haha, I don't mind at all, sure there's a theme to start a discussion, but if someone's got something they just want to share I'm all for that aswell. Especially if we end up with organic discussion around it.
reply
Haha, you spray and pray from the hip enough you'll hit something. Like the scene from predator where they're all just shooting from the hip into the jungle. Hit him eventually didn't they ;)

That's lovely @Natalia I loved the sound. Although it's Turkish it really took me back to a casbah I stayed in in Morocco. Great sound.
