What you did for Bitcoin last week? What you did for Bitcoin last week?

Let's start a new weekly "ask SN" post. Many people are just like "buy Bitcoin and HODL" waiting for some kind of celestial sign to move something. But that is NOT enough. Please post here (in the limits you can reveal it), what you did in the last week for Bitcoin. Can be anything related to Bitcoin, not just coding apps.

For those noobs, read more here: https://darthcoin.substack.com/p/what-you-did-for-bitcoin

I start: last week I translated (or finishing translations) for Zeus wallet and Blixt wallet. Also I wrote some quick bitcoin guides for some private noobs groups I have.

  1. Organized monthly local Bitcoin meetup and spent there some sats for drinks.
  2. Coded, tested, reviewed and merged some GitHub pull requests.
reply

Which GitHub repos are you working with?

reply

My GitHub profile link is in my SN profile. But not everything I do is in public repos.

reply

Cool, I should have checked there first!

reply

meetups are really fruitful. Well done!

reply

I’ve worked on refactoring Bitcoin Core coin selection tests, reviewed a couple pull requests, recorded another episode of the Optech Recap, participated in some discussions on replacement policies in a cluster mempool world, wrote three stack exchange answers, edited 34 stack exchange posts, and did a lot of reading of all sorts of stuff with some occasional commentary

reply

Every Sunday I spend at least 5 hours hosting a public meetup to discuss Bitcoin with anyone who wants. We have met over 120 times now and last week in particular I organized a Bitcoin Vortex, during for which I got various local meetups to all happen on the same weekend, instead of disparately throughout the calendar. My goal is for bitcoiners to meet each other in person and over time build the future together.

Also spoke to Ben Arc about lnbits to open it up so my whole class can receive sats! + Of IOT stuff for my classroom aka @boneohackerspace

And zapped pretty much everyone lol + met Jack Dorsey and WoS peeps with super cool forward thinking interoperable things happening.

Oh and got students excited about an ostrich art event when i get back!

I wrote some content to make it clear that people don't need anybody's approval that they are "doing enough" for bitcoin. People are free to use (or not use) bitcoin however they see fit.

reply

shitposting doesn't count

reply

Hm, so you want to build a tradition and get contributors, and then immediately attack people who contribute. Do you think that is the best way to build a community and a tradition?

reply

You weren't attacked. Someone simply criticized your "contribution".

reply

You're making my point, thank you.

This is a great post to 1) learn about ways to support bitcoin and 2) zap those contributing to the growth of the network!

Last week we tested advertising on EagleSats.com for Lightning-Poker.com and Lightning-Roulette.com

We also introduced nine more languages to Lightning-Roulette.com
