Is it a friendly sibling rivalry or are we looked down on here?
I doubt HN as a bot to say that such and such article was already posted on sn, for example

I love SN and invest a lot of time here, but the discussion, and the scale of discussion, on HN is like 1000x better on nearly every topic that doesn't directly pertain to bitcoin.
There are many reasons for that (e.g., HN has been around for seventeen years) but it's worth recognizing the truth of the matter.

Also reddit, despite all of its faults- I have a lot of interests outside of BTC.

If they would adopt BTC/LN first they maybe would be the best ones... but they don't and they will just die slowly. As all those that do not adopt BTC.
So... FUCK HN. Anything that doesn't have LN integrated is meaningless for me.

  • I think there are many anti-Bitcoiners on HN. And many of them are pretty agressive about it, which is quite unfortunate.
  • And probably most people on HN don't know that SN exists or are only slightly aware of its existence.
  • One big difference to Reddit or Twitter I think is that there is a 3rd small group of HN people don't don't like Bitcoin or SN but still appreciate the elegance of tipping Sats and Lightning. This 3rd demographic doesn't exist on Reddit or Twitter because of tribalism and group-think. But imo there are people on HN like this. They might become Bitcoiners one day.

I don’t care, I’m just interested. It’s interesting how you are not interested.

Lmao a friendly sibling rivalry.
SN is a one trick pony. And there’s nothing wrong with that - taking the gold medal in pole vaulting is great.
But HN gets the gold in literally every other Olympic sport.

Couldn't tell, SN cured my HN addiction so I haven't really been back...

For those who don't know, hacker news is https://news.ycombinator.com/

There are probably few people who cross over between the two

How is stacker.news perceived by Hacker News?
Guess you should ask this in HN instead...
reply
Yes, lol.

What is Hacker.News? Lol... never used it so I don't really know.
I read their email summary every Friday. It usually has some interesting links to visit. I never actually browse Hacker News though.
