Hello everyone I'm looking for a debit card that can be topped up with bitcoin in the EU. I'm aware that this isn't the ideal way to spend bitcoin, but I still need to buy groceries. Up until now I have only found debit cards from shady crypto companies, so I'm hoping for a bitcoin only card.
Thanks in advance!
Use CASH, don't support banksters

what ? omg what are you doing here in this bitcoin chat?

Defending freedom and self-sovereignty

through pushing people to use debased paper? omg we're still early in this bitcoin thing if you're still thinking in cash ... you don't understand inflation, money printing, and debasement.
reply
And you're a bitcrazy if you think we've reached hyperbitcoinisation already
Cash and Bitcoin are perfect compliments
Cash is way better than all the bankstering proposed in these other threads
Once you understand bitcoin, you'll realise that cash is really the best option for payments in meatspace.
But anyway, make the most of it, because cash will disappear whether we like it or not.
reply
I will advice against this

I haven't had any problems so far. And I can pay with Bitcoin everywhere. And that was exactly the question, right?
reply
Are you retarded? It's a fucking VISA card, that means fiat not Bitcoin

They recently turned into a shitcoin casino, and no longer accept coinjoined funds - some travel rule bullshit.
reply
Still good card for spending. They comply with regulations as a bank, so what can you expect...
reply
They started adding some shitcoins, but they are a pro bitcoin company. The shitcoins are not in main UI and was added the same way as stocks, on wealth tab.
reply
Did they announce that?
I thought they were fine with CoinJoin
reply
Not announced. But coinjoins were fine until this month. Then an announcement of:
INTRODUCING ETHEREUM, CARDANO, AND POLYGON AT XAPO BANK
And suddenly coinjoins are not ok - must be part of some kind of deal with regulators.
reply
I am on their support chat asking them

LOL hidden referral code in the link to a shitcoin card... such a grifter You should be ashamed for that, as "chief editor" for Bitcoin Maxi news, LOL what maxi news are those if you promote the use of fiat and shitcoins?
reply
Unlike you, I understand that we live in the real world, not fantasy la-la land where everything is about Bitcoin. He wanted a debit card for spending, and Xapo is good for that no matter what morons like you call it.

Good catch.

Nexo card is really good. $25 Bonus with our link: https://nexo.com/ref/xm8mcxffhw?src=web-link
You can also try cards from Bitrefill, TheBitcoinCompany, Spendl
Or else, just go with any of the neobanks which support bitcoin or shitcoin companies which have card, for example Revolut or Crypto.com.
reply
Don't do that. Otherwise I will mark you as a fiat shitcoiner supporter. Forever. Here you have a full list with places that you can use. Many of them operating in EU. You can do it, if you really want it. Supporting the fiat system by using those cards is NOT the way. https://darthcoin.substack.com/p/pay-bills-with-bitcoin
reply
I'm am completely aware that using a debit card is fiat as hell and has nothing to do with bitcoin. Thanks for the link to the article, and I didn't know I could pay my bills directly with bitcoin. However I still have the same issue with buying groceries. The only way I can spend bitcoin at local stores is by either selling bitcoin for cash, or using a fiat debit card. I can't even buy gift cards, as almost no stores are available on bitrefill in my country
reply
Convince your local groceries. Mom&pop shops, not giant chains... I did that some years ago and now I live only paying with BTC, P2P. You can do it if you really want it. https://darthcoin.substack.com/p/how-bitcoin-will-save-the-world
reply
When faced with a user experience issue, it should not be up to the user to fix the issue. Not everyone has the time to talk to their local grocery stores and try to get people on boarded with Bitcoin. We are working class people who believe in this but just want to buy some fucking groceries, man. Do we not have a seat at the table because we are not as frothing at the mouth as you? We have lives outside of this. Who the fuck cares who you mark any of us as, who the fuck even ARE you and why do you think you matter in any component of this?????
The ego you have for the nobody that you are is incredible.

Hats off to you for doing it. I guess its worth a tryâš¡

Another quick option for you is to use a friend. You pay him in BTC, he pays your fiat bill. You help him, he helps you.
Another way is to use ShopinBit concierge services: anything you want, paid with BTC https://shopinbit.com/Premium-Services/Concierge-Service/
Just think about this: by going to a grocery store with a VISA card (it doesn't matter if is debited using BTC) you are supporting that merchant to keep accepting VISA/fiat instead of helping them to accept BTC. They will never accept BTC if you keep going with a VISA card.

Where do you want to spend? I use bitrefill to buy REWE gift cards which you can redeem in the REWE supermarkets which are all across Germany. It works flawless.

Stay away from Fold. Slow transfer of money over to it and the benefits are all but gone. See if Bitcoin is an option.
reply
ummm no you don't. This is not the way.. You need to live off bitcoin and spend it, try to convince people to use it instead. You're making it hard for yourself.
reply
Coinbase do a debit card, works in the UK at least, wouldn't consider them to be shady

I understand you...
Using a service with KYC, fiat and that continues to support the traditional system is not desired, but if we do not have other options (P2P with Bitcoin, Bitrefill coupons, etc.) we have no choice, right?
What I have discovered in my search for a card without KYC and that allows you to pay in Bitcoin, is that it does NOT exist. You would always have to convert to fiat, because current merchants do not accept Bitcoin otherwise.
Therefore, the ideal is to really use Bitcoin directly, from wallet to wallet, peer to peer, as it should be. But convincing an online business, with hundreds of thousands of sheep following the flow, of this is not easy.
In my case, although I have been starting to instill Bitcoin in my nearby businesses for some time, Wirex is the account that I have used daily for two years, especially in online stores.
You don't have to leave all the money, but you can generate high interest and then use it with your card anywhere in the world.
I do not recommend using their swap service unless it is to convert stable currencies. The commissions are very high, including spread, although in general, unless they are not in the savings account, they are recovered in a week using X-Accounts.
It's not a scam, though, it's a scam for using fiat and being a "bank." The ideal is to stay away from this, but until you get used to using only Bitcoin in your nearby businesses (convincing the owners), or in online services that do not support Bitrefill or similar, it does not hurt to have these options.
If you want fiat, and don't want to hear about Bitcoin, take your fiat. I'm not going to waste my time and Bitcoin if a store won't even agree to hear about the benefits of Bitcoin.
If you choose Wirex, you can find the link on my website, with some more information.

You can create a virtual card with The Bitcoin Company app, if you really need a card and can't use cash or Bitcoin to pay

By the way, you're being very aggressive here. Do you have ADHD or are you just an asshole?
reply
With shitcoiners? Yes. Always.
In all these 10+ years in Bitcoinlandia I studied and learned how shitcoiners (like you) act, behave... So I know for sure who is a shitcoiner and who is not, or who just want to pretend to be a bitcoiner (but is not), or who is just an ex-shitcoiner that want to come to the light.
I know everything about them. None of them can fool me.

Nice, Vader is looking for a fight...lol I agree with most of what you say but you have to realize when you say "I know everything about..." You kinda pushing on "douchebag" limit... just saying...

They are a lot of them out there, problem is it is being issued by centralised entities

Ok try this for now until some company create one. You can just buy your grocery stores giftcard from bitrefill.com paying with bitcoin-lightning and go buy your groceries with it. That simple, plus they won't know your ID got it?
