10,000 sats paid

Today marks the 13th anniversary of the creation of block 94947. It was the block with the most transactions on that day. There were 13 transactions in total.

How is it 0 fee?

reply

If there were only 13 transactions, then why pay a fee? There was no competition to be in the block

reply

Does this still apply to present? Imagine if all these retards stop minting BRC-20 tokens and the fee rate drops back down to 1sat/vB, with most blocks not being full. Would I be able to make a transaction with 0 sat? And why would a miner choose to include my transaction if he doesn't get anything? This is an interesting discussion.

reply

I'm not sure either. But it could be because there was little demand back then. Maybe it was a kind of incentive. After all, there were already several blocks like this, and the block reward (50 BTC) should have been enough.

My Favourite Fun fact is:: The sun is REALLY loud.

Lets make a thought experiment) and imagine for a second that there would be a way for sound to propagate from The Sun to The Earth, In that case, the sound sound of the sun would be perceived from the surface of the earth at around 100 decibels, or about the same volume as the speakers at a rock concert thats located at about 10 meters away from you

Remember, the sun is 150,000,000 km from the earth, and still it will be perceived as loud as a rock concert standing 10 meters away from you.

Turns that the whole Rick and Morty Sun rising screaming theory is not so crazy after all

The makers of the movie Ghostbusters (1984) originally asked Huey Lewis to do the soundtrack/theme song. He declined. So they got Ray Parker Jr. to do it... and after it was released, Huey Lewis sued Parker for plagiarism because it sounded so much like his 1983 song "I Want a New Drug".

Years later in 2004, the filmmakers admitted to having used Lewis' song "I Want a New Drug" as temporary background music and included those scenes in what they sent to Parker to help him write the theme song.
