Good one! I remember when the film got released. We went to many midnight showings. I saw them live in 1977.

I feel lucky to have seen them with John Bonham. Maybe best rock drummer ever.

Nightwish live is just a sensory delight. They nail everything. Excellent show.

Live At Leeds is a great album. I'm gradually coming around to Queen after all these years. I always liked Bohemian Rhapsody, of course. That's an incredible song, but nothing else grabbed me.

My freshman roommate was obsessed. Tie Your Mother Down must have been played 1000 times in my dorm room. For some reason all my Philadelphia friends loved Queen, so maybe it was a natural animosity. Then my daughter was a fan during her middle school years.

Anti parent? Maybe. No one sat around and talked about it, like we soon did with Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Yes, The Who, The Doors. Personally, I always found Queen technically flawless, and Mercury's voice was incredible. I just thought their sound was too polished and perfect for Rock and Roll, and I didn't think they were in the first tier of that fertile period lyrically. Of course, Bohemian Rhapsody is in a class by itself, but I always saw it as an outlier. I guess I'm biased towards bands with a more raw, basic sound.
