It would be fantastic if SN is able to eventually add further post options that could allow us to essentially run a Sportsbook like freebitcoin entirely P2P
I think it could be possible albeit with potentially trusting the sub founder if a new post could automatically payout all players who stacked to the correct answer.
Basically like doing a poll post like:
- Seahawks
- 49ers
- tie
Say 49ers win. Whoever stacked to 49er option is paid their proportionate amount of earnings of those who stacked for Seattle or tie
2 players bet on the 49ers. player A stacked 500 sats and player ₿ stacked 1000 sats A would receive 33% and ₿ would get 67% of Seattle (and tie) stacked bets
Obviously this would require an oracle mechanism but rather than @grayruby having to manually collect and payout sats for different contests he could instead play the part of oracle (or a group of designees) and indicate the winner or correct answer for any given poll bet
Functionality could extend to a variety of different scenarios and naturally we would create our own “odds” based on the risk / reward potential. Similar concept to @ekzyis with more centralized tradeoffs that rely on the territory manager to be the oracle. Benefits being the potential for not needing even yes / no bets if payout is proportional of winning side splitting losing sides bet based on % originally placed.
